Try not to cry... Sad news ahead

Hey Kindred Spirits,
It is with a lot of sadness and an overwhelming sense of gratitude, that I am to announce that Tea Fox Illustrations (Sarah our Kitsunedo artist) is finishing up on the project. We have worked together on Kitsunedo since 2018 and if not for her most beautiful art, this game would not have been conceived in the first place. She is an immense talent, a caring friend, and I wish her the best on the new journey she is wishing to take.
As a final parting, she has generously gifted one of her originalcharacters as a rare, PAX exclusive Spirit Lord for Kitsunedo. Kagumi of the Fading Sun is our game’s final homage to her. Soon to be unveiled…
~ Michael

Update on the base game deliveries and PAX Aus
over 2 years ago
– Mon, Jul 10, 2023 at 10:46:15 PM
Hello Friends of Ukiyo, Friends of Foxes, and all other Kindred Spirits,
I hope you're all doing great! We've got some exciting news plus some answers to questions on the base game deliveries. So keep reading to the bottom for those.
We are excited to reveal that we've survived the great PAX Aus culling and that we'll be there this October! Due to the video game section expanding once again, a lot of the tabletop area had been reduced. Thankfully, we've made and survived the tabletop hunger games and we'll be seeing many of you again in person!
We're going to be running something a little different from the normal stall. It's going to be super interactive, with some pretty awesome quest rewards so stay tuned for updates on the upcoming adventure...
I won't reveal any further just yet, but I shall leave this relevant Pokemon image as a mysterious, obscure and potentially confusing hint.
Now for the updates:
1. We had a great Kids Holiday program. Thank you to all the kids who poured their hearts and souls into their creations. They came up with some truly wonderful mechanics and stories. It was so encouraging!
2. I wanted to clarify some questions around the additional characters. With our first Stretch Goal, the Tailed Shisu was unlocked into the base game of Kitsunedo, making it 6 player. There's also some deep secret lore with the Tailed Shisu if you can figure it out...
3. The other additional characters were unlocked as physical copies into the expansion set of characters. Prior to reaching those goals, we weren't sure if we'd have the budget to release a physical expansion so it was just going to be a print-and-play.
4. Since we're just a small studio and for us this wasn't just a glorified pre-order, we didn't have all the assets for the expansion characters ready to go with characters we weren't sure if we'd be able to afford producing. Because of that, we've still got a bit of work ahead, developing, testing and finalising the assets for those Spirit Lords. I'll try to keep you updated with how that goes.
5. We have the major flavour of each expansion character ability but we'd love to do some final testing with you our community. We're going to try and run some online tests over discord, so if anyone wishes to be involved, please keep updated on our discord channel. You can reach it using this link:
https://www.ukiyo.com.au/bonfire-of-dreams/
6. Since those expansion characters weren't ready at the same time as the base game of Kitsunedo, we opted to send them at a later date rather than delaying all orders. This does mean there will be additional shipping charges once we send them out. We hope you understand.
7. There were some issues with the Backerkit setup and Backerkit provided some out-of-date postage pricing. In the end all of the International orders costed quite a bit more than we charged backers, but we ended up covering the gap out of our pocket.
I hope that answers any questions or mysteries in the air. Don't forget, if you have any questions on rules for Kitsunedo, please jump onto our discord.
Warm Regards,
Michael
Oz Comic Con, Board Game Geek and Upcoming PAX!

Hello Friends of Ukiyo, Friends of Foxes, and all other Spirit Animals,
We just finished up a busy weekend at Oz Comic Con! It was our first experience there so thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello and for all the helpers: Lysh, Boonybun, Jarulso, Jack Mack - me and Beth couldn't have done it without you!
On the second day of Comic Con we offered up a special Boss Fight Challenge where attendees could challenge me to a 1 on 1 Duel. It was safe to say that it was a bit of a hit, and many people came back to challenge me for revenge. A few stayed to watch the other challengees so they could learn my patterns and steal my moves 😆. I reckon we'll do something like this at Pax Aus and treat it like a bit of a Pokemon style, gym badge challenge! Please let me know on the Discord if you think we should do this.
You can permanently access the Discord using this link from our website;
https://www.ukiyo.com.au/bonfire-of-dreams/
I have also added Kitsunedo onto Board Game Geek so it's pretty new-looking. If you've enjoyed playing Kitsunedo, I'd love if you could leave a review. That would really help us as we try to get Kitsunedo into stores, and these means we can keep making new characters and new mechanics moving forward! We also have a Let's Play Video linked there if you need any extra tips on playing.
For any of the kids in Melbourne, we are excited to announce that we are partnering with Melbourne Young Writers Studio to host a Kitsunedo-themed Holiday Program this Winter! Me and Beth from Ukiyo will be there to help kids design their very own Kitsunedo characters and abilities whilst the writing team will help you turn that into a magical story.
The program is called Spirit Stories and you can book using the link below.

Hello Friends of Ukiyo, Friends of Foxes, and all other Spirited Critters,
All games of Kitsunedo, including the Limited Editions have been posted out to you. Yay!! Some may have already arrived at International Shores and others may yet still be travelling by ship to their final destination (you!).
The remaining Art Prints are also on their way. We needed to order more through a different supplier so those should be ready to go out at the end of this week. For those who are still waiting, thank you for your patience.

For the Kids
For any of the kids in Melbourne, we are excited to announce that we are partnering with Melbourne Young Writers Studio to host a Kitsunedo-themed Holiday Program this Winter! Me and Beth from Ukiyo will be there to help kids design their very own Kitsunedo characters and abilities whilst the writing team will help you turn that into a magical story. Having chatted to a bunch of parents and kids along the home delivery route, I know there's so many of you working on your own characters already. I'd love to help you workshop them personally :)
The program is called Spirit Stories and you can book here:
