Itachi of the Eclipse

One step closer to the Itachi of the Eclipse... One step closer to the Spirit World's end.

Inspired by the Japanese folk Yokai of the Kamaitachi, this ravenous weasel is a harbinger of doom. I'm a big fan of both Berserk and Hunter X Hunter (anime + manga) and both had a bit of an influence upon this character. Props to you if you know the references ⭐ -_- 💧

This berserker type Spirit Lord does best in a larger group. The more Spirit Lords present, the more the Itachi can satiate its sanguinary thirst.  Its first ability makes it difficult to evade its attacks whilst its second allows it to thrive in the chaos of bluffing and challenges.

We've just reached our next stretch goal so the Itachi of the Eclipse is unlocked in the Ever-Smouldering Tier! Depending on the stretch gols we reach in this fibal week, we may eb able to release a full expansion as well :)

For anyone who pledges to the Ever-Smouldering $80 Tier,  you will get physical copies of any expansion characters we unlock on our stretch goals.  There are a few more to come who we haven't yet listed. One of whom I'm most keen to release. Its ability involves careful planning, a web of deceit and a well-timed snap to catch your prey in the heat of the moment. Itachi Abilities

Berserker Kama: If you attack someone and they have a Block card in their hand, they must discard it immediately before taking any other actions.

Sanguinary Thirst: If someone loses a challenge and discards their hand, choose up to two of their discarded cards and add them to your hand.

You are all amazing!! We've just reached our 30k stretch goal which means you'll get the vengeful Tailed Shisu in your base game. Great for the player who likes intimidate others with a potential grudge.

Just wanted to let you all know that we have our Ukiyo Community Day tomorrow. It has come up pretty quick and it's a free event! It goes from 10am to 3pm at Dwell, 78 St Leonard's Road, Ascot Vale, Melbourne. Open to all ages.

We’ll be running a free workshop where you’ll be coming up with your own spirit lord characters, and creating your own playable Kitsunedo cards with unique game mechanics. Included will be a tutorial on drawing animals from our staff illustrator to help bring your original characters to life, and feedback and advice on game mechanics from the original creator of Kitsunedo.

At midday lunch will be provided, and after lunch from 1 we’ll be holding a casual Kitsunedo tournament. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to play, we’ll have official Kitsunedo referees ready to explain the game and solve any contentious rules questions.

We've almost reached our first stretch goal!

We're so sooo close!

Thank you so much to everyone who has pledged so far. You have all been phenomenal and the support has filled me with such joy! 

We're currently sitting at the 29k mark, but if we reach 30k we'll be able to add the Tailed Shisu to the 1st Edition of Kitsunedo...  making it a 6 player game! That means, everyone who backed for $40 or more will get an awesome free character included in their game.

Personally, I get really excited about the Tailed Shisu. It was one of the early expansion characters I created that worked really well in our community testing. It's got quite a unique ability compared with all the foxes and tanuki, making it quite terrifying to take down.  If you take it down too early, it'll be back to hunt you down. (There's a little secret in its lore as well if you can put the pieces together.)

Now, a couple of smaller updates from my end:

I'm currently finalising the rules for print to go to our manufacturers. Having gotten feedback from some of you who played with our Mini versions at PAX, I know that there were some rules of the game that were perhaps not communicated so clearly in the mini rules. I really want to make sure that's not an issue with the 1st Edition Rules and that the proper game is easy to understand.  Because of that, I'm going to be:

1. Releasing current versions of the Rules on Discord

2. Asking for questions, confusions and any other feedback on the rules

3. Updating and iterating the rules according to  your collaborative efforts.

I'm gonna be sending out the Discord Invite on the next email update to all the Backers. This one's public
